ABC International Nursery and Pre-School

Preschool in Phuket, Thailand

ABC International Nursery and Pre-school was founded in 2007 to provide an international standard pre-school experience for families in the Rawai, Nai Harn and Chalong area. Located in the south of the island, the school is housed in a white villa with large surrounding gardens and describes itself as a bright, airy, colourful and happy environment that offers children a creative and safe place to learn. The school accepts children from 18 months to 7 years, with Nursery Years for 18 months to 3 years, Pre-School Years for 3 to 5 years and Primary Years for 5 to 7 years. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 12 students, and the community includes families from an array of nationalities. All teaching is done in English apart from scheduled Thai and Chinese lessons. The school aims to ensure children achieve key learning objectives through academic, social and sensory activities and places a strong emphasis on creativity and experiential learning in classes such as yoga, dance, art, drama, music, gardening, languages and movement. Mindfulness and consideration are given as much importance as academic learning. The school expresses the view that meaningful learning occurs when a child is happy, secure, ready, engaged and challenged.
