Little Fairy Land is a full day child care centre in Singapore for children aged 2 to 6. Its philosophy is rooted in recognising the importance of the first six years of a child’s development, and the centre says it aims to make the most of this “window of opportunity.” The tone across its own description is warm and reassuring, with a focus on creating a caring setting for young children and peace of mind for parents.
The school’s programme centres on whole child development and preschool education. It describes its approach as combining both imported and local methodologies, which suggests a broad base for learning in the early years. English and Mandarin are both listed among the languages used. The centre also says that Anne has more than 20 years of experience in whole child development curriculum, which is part of the school’s background and educational identity.
Daily life at Little Fairy Land appears to take place in a cosy and warm environment. The centre has a maximum intake of 47 students, and it highlights this smaller size as one reason it can offer very individualized attention to the children in its care. The school also notes centre facilities, and its gallery shows a range of child-centre spaces and activities, though the excerpt does not describe them in detail. What is clear is that the setting is intended to feel personal rather than large or impersonal.
What makes Little Fairy Land distinctive is its emphasis on early childhood as a crucial stage, paired with a family-focused mission. The school says it wants to enrich the quality of family life by giving parents peace of mind and by enhancing the life experiences of children under its care, helping prepare them for the future. It was also amongst the first batch to be awarded ECDA’s 3 year licence in 2019, and the centre says this licence has been renewed. It may be a good fit for families looking for a small preschool environment in Singapore where young children can receive close attention in both English and Mandarin.
