The school presents itself as a preschool and infant care setting, with a focus on helping young children grow into confident pre-schoolers with pro-social skills. Its atmosphere is described as clean and conducive, especially for infant care, and the centre offers early education in a setting shaped around Mandarin-focused immersion.
The curriculum centres on integrated thematic storytelling and cultural experiences, with Mandarin as the main language of learning. According to the school, this approach is aligned with Singapore MOE guidelines and is designed to support Chinese language development and reading proficiency from infancy through Kindergarten 2. The programme includes Chinese-inspired Creative Art, Chinese Speech and Drama, and ELFA Higher Order-Thinking Mathematics, all conducted in Mandarin. English is also part of the school’s language environment, and the school notes exposure to Chinese poetry and calligraphy as part of its bilingual education approach.
Daily learning at ELFA appears to be built around engaging, participatory activities rather than a narrow academic routine. Stories are used to help children absorb Mandarin vocabulary, grammar, and culture naturally, while Chinese cultural elements are woven into the experience. The school also highlights calligraphy as a tool for learning Chinese characters and building a love for Mandarin, and its creative art programme is described as supporting positive learning dispositions through Chinese cultural art. The preschool also points to a comprehensive immersion environment and says that children are immersed in Mandarin through core subjects and cultural traditions.
What makes ELFA distinctive is its strong Mandarin immersion identity and its combination of story-based learning, cultural exposure, and bilingual development. The curriculum is described as being crafted by Singapore-based early childhood specialists in collaboration with Chinese advisors, which suggests a programme built around both local and Chinese educational perspectives. It may suit families looking for an early years setting where Mandarin is central to daily learning, with children learning through stories, art, drama, and mathematics in a fully immersive environment.
