Active Learners is a preschool in Singapore serving children from ages 2 to 6. Its stated aim is to nurture young minds and foster a love for learning through children’s earliest experiences. The school describes itself as a place where “everything we do” is guided by the belief that it can make a difference in the lives of children who walk through its doors. The overall atmosphere is presented as caring and supportive, with an emphasis on helping young children feel comfortable and valued.
The curriculum for each programme is carefully planned and structured for age-appropriate delivery at each level of development. Active Learners highlights early childhood education, integrated learning, and social-emotional development as core parts of its approach. English is the language used. The school also notes that its teachers have early childhood qualifications ranging from Certificate to Diploma to Specialist Diploma levels, and it places importance on delivering learning that supports children in their formative years.
Daily life at Active Learners includes small class sizes and a low teacher-child ratio, which the school says helps teachers support a range of learning capabilities in the classroom. Teachers aim to create an integrated learning environment with the feel of “a home away from home,” and the school’s communications with parents include photographs and samples of children’s work, phone calls and parent-teacher meetings, SMS broadcasts, and a communications book. Activities and outings are described as an integral part of the experience and are planned across a full-year schedule. These experiences are used to reinforce values such as respect, kindness, and confidence. Parent comments also mention clean, well-lit classrooms, a comfortable indoor air-conditioned environment, and friendly, patient teachers.
What stands out about Active Learners is the combination of structured early learning, close teacher support, and active partnership with families. The school acknowledges the diversity of parenting practices, values, and social and cultural backgrounds, and says children benefit most when the centre actively engages parents through consultation, collaboration, and negotiation. It may be a good fit for families looking for a preschool with a strong focus on early childhood learning, social-emotional development, and regular communication between home and school.
