Little Steamers Nursery is in Doha, Qatar, and describes itself as Qatar’s first official STEAM nursery. It serves young children from 6 weeks to 4 years old, with classes divided into age-appropriate groups. The school presents itself as building on a long presence in early childhood education in Doha, having started as Little Academy Nursery in 2006. Its tone is warm and exploratory, with an emphasis on curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking from the very start.
The curriculum is built around STEAM, meaning Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, and the school says this approach is designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The FAQ also states that Little Steamers combines its STEAM-focused curriculum with Scholastic’s Pre-K On My Way program, developed in collaboration with the Yale Child Study Center. Learning journeys are organised by stage, from Infant Steamers through Pre-K Steamers, with experiences that include sensory play, movement, language, storytelling, creative play, early science, art, literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving. The school lists Arabic and English among its languages.
Daily life appears to centre on hands-on learning and discovery. The website highlights hands-on robotics, art, and a maker’s space, alongside play, learning, and growth through STEAM. Infant Steamers is described as a calm, secure space with gentle nurturing, bonding, and responsive care, while older groups build independence through experimenting, building, and asking questions. Little Steamers also notes flexible attendance options of 2, 3, or 5 days per week, which may be helpful for families looking for adaptable scheduling.
What makes Little Steamers distinctive is its identity as a fully STEAM-focused nursery with a long history in Doha and a stated legacy of trust since 2006. The school says it has 20 plus years of proven expertise, 74 plus successful graduating classes, and 1000 plus happy families. It seems especially well suited to families who want an early years setting that blends structured school readiness with hands-on exploration, creative thinking, and a caring atmosphere for very young children.
