Precious International School of Davao is an international school in Davao City, Philippines, serving children and young people from ages 5 to 18. The school says it aims to provide quality education that meets the call for excellent and competitive learning at a lower cost. Its stated purpose is to develop globally competent individuals while instilling Christian values and patriotism. The tone of the school’s own message is faith-centered and community-minded, with an emphasis on character, competence, and service.
The school follows the K to 12 Program, covering Kindergarten through Senior High School. In its own description, PISD says education is achieved through holistic formation of the learner as a Filipino, as a Christian, and as a citizen of the world. It also states that it believes the ability to express one’s thoughts and ideas through spoken and written English is essential for relating to the world beyond the school, the city, and the nation. English and Filipino are listed among the school’s languages. The school also identifies Christian Education and Holistic Formation as part of its approach.
Daily life at PISD is presented as part of a wider school family, with the school describing itself as a “whole PISD family.” The site reflects an active school community with a strong public-facing presence, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube links. The school also notes its connection to Educational Service Contracting, a government financial assistance system for deserving elementary graduates moving on to private high school. In 2022, PISD announced a partnership with Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma, describing a shared commitment to raise “whole leaders” through “whole person education.” The school also says it strives to share its time, resources, and experience with learners, parents, and the wider Davao City community.
What stands out most in the source is the way PISD combines Christian identity, Filipino values, and an international outlook. Its founders, Dr. Perla Kwan and Engr. Rogelio Kwan, are credited with a vision of providing quality yet affordable education, and the school says it is now in its 26th year. PISD appears well suited to families looking for an English and Filipino environment with a Christian frame, a holistic approach, and a school that emphasizes both academic preparation and character formation from the early years through senior high school.
