Columbus Childcare is a daycare and after-school care location in Eindhoven, North Brabant, at Oirschotsedijk 14b on the green campus of the Internationale School Eindhoven. The school welcomes children from 0 to 13 years old and describes its setting as safe, warm, and international. From baby through primary and school age, children are given a place where they can feel at home, whether they come from the Netherlands or from elsewhere. The atmosphere is presented as one of belonging, with attention to children feeling welcome wherever they come from.
The daily approach is bilingual and development-focused. At Columbus, children discover the world through play in both Dutch and English, and the location works with a continuous development line from 0 to 13 years in close cooperation with the Internationale School Eindhoven. The school places emphasis on multilingualism, independence, self-confidence, and curiosity. Its stated approach is to guide children step by step in their development, while giving them a learning environment that feels familiar and also offers challenge. The source also notes the principle of “one teacher one language,” and says many of the pedagogical professionals are multilingual.
Columbus offers space to play, relax, and learn, and the school’s pages distinguish between care for 0 to 4 years and BSO for 4 to 13 years. The setting on the campus of the International School is part of what defines the daily experience there. Opening hours are listed for the daycare from Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 18:30, and for the BSO on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 15:30 to 19:00, and on Wednesday from 12:30 to 19:00. The source also mentions that there is currently a long waiting list, and that a tour is not possible at the moment because of high demand, although families who receive a place are offered a visit before signing the contract.
What makes Columbus distinctive is the combination of its international environment, its bilingual Dutch-English approach, and its close link with the Internationale School Eindhoven. This connection creates a continuous line between childcare and international education, which may be especially reassuring for families looking for a stable and familiar setting over several years. It appears well suited to families who value meertaligheid, developmental guidance, and a warm community where children are encouraged to grow in confidence and curiosity.
