Giggles Addis Ababa is a daycare for children ages 1 to 4. It offers a hands-on learning environment in Addis Ababa and describes its atmosphere as calm, nurturing, and child-centered. The school says it believes the earliest years of life are the foundation for everything that follows, and that children learn best when they feel safe, seen, and celebrated. Joy is described as being just as important as learning, which gives the setting a warm and thoughtful tone for very young children.
The school’s approach is inspired by Montessori principles and focuses on child-led, experiential learning. Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace in a structured yet flexible environment, with gentle guidance rather than direct instruction. Giggles emphasizes whole-child development, supporting emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth. The source also notes that activities are designed with purpose and may include practical, hands-on experiences such as seed sorting and story time with finger puppets, as well as opportunities that support language, movement, and life skills. English is listed as the language of instruction.
Daily life at Giggles appears to be grounded in meaningful materials and a nature-inspired environment. The school uses wooden toys and real tools made for little hands, rather than noisy plastic, and its space includes real plants for children to water and care for. An indoor aquarium is also part of the environment, helping bring nature into the children’s everyday learning. These elements are presented as supporting calmness, responsibility, and respect for living things. The school also mentions weekly plans, suggesting a regular rhythm to the children’s experiences.
What makes Giggles distinctive is the combination of Montessori-inspired, child-led learning with a strong emphasis on whole-child development and nature-inspired play. Its focus on respectful, hands-on learning is especially suited to families looking for a preschool or daycare where young children can explore freely while still being guided in a structured setting. For children ages 1 to 4, it may be a good fit for families who value a gentle, purposeful environment and who want early learning to feel personal, calm, and developmentally thoughtful.
