SCBS Pudong, officially 上海浦东新区民办康德学校, is a K-12 private boarding school at No. 70 Kangheng Road in Pudong New District, Shanghai. It serves students from age 5 to 18 and offers a comprehensive education in a bilingual setting. The school describes its mission as preparing future graduates who are not only strong academically, but also curious, thoughtful, resilient, guided by integrity, and able to look beyond themselves. Its approach is framed around four pillars: academic excellence, potential development, whole-child care, and community building. Founded in 2017, SCBS Pudong presents itself as a school with a clear long-term commitment to learning and growth.
The school’s curriculum is built around K-12 education with bilingual teaching in Chinese and English. The source emphasizes SCBS’s years of successful bilingual teaching experience and its ongoing focus on academic excellence. Teaching at Pudong is supported by a notably highly qualified faculty, with more than two-thirds of teachers holding master’s or doctoral degrees. Nearly half graduated from leading universities such as the UK’s G5 institutions or the Ivy League in the United States. The school also highlights the outcomes of its wider Concord community, noting that graduates have been admitted to universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Cornell, and Imperial College London.
As a boarding school, SCBS Pudong offers a daily environment shaped by both study and community life. The school is located alongside Concord Academy Kindergarten, and both institutions began operations in September 2023. Beyond this, the source does not give detailed information about timetables, facilities, or extracurricular activities, but it does make clear that the school sees community building and whole-child care as central to its work. That suggests a setting where academic life is closely connected with personal development and shared school culture.
What makes SCBS Pudong distinctive is its combination of bilingual K-12 education, boarding, and a strong emphasis on academic standards within a whole-child framework. The school’s tone is serious and purposeful, with its identity rooted in scholarship, character, and community. It may be a particularly good fit for families looking for a structured bilingual school in Shanghai that serves children through the full span of primary and secondary years, and for students who would benefit from a school environment focused on academic ambition, personal growth, and boarding support.
