The Montessori Children's Garden

Preschool in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

The Montessori Children’s Garden is a preschool in Abu Dhabi serving children from 45 days to 4 years 11 months. It describes itself as an authentic Montessori beginning, made in Abu Dhabi, with children growing through purposeful Montessori learning, Arabic and English, and a close partnership with every family. The nursery is open from 6 AM to 6 PM, and its atmosphere is rooted in Montessori values, independence, and a sense of belonging. It is also proudly Emirati woman-led and managed by M. AlQubaisi.

The school is licensed to use the Montessori National Curriculum provided by the Montessori Australia Foundation, and it also references EYFS in its curriculum profile. Its approach is based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s belief that children flourish when given freedom within a carefully prepared environment. Educators observe closely, introduce the right challenge at the right time, and support each child in building independence through meaningful, hands-on work. The school also highlights Arabic and English as part of its language, culture, and belonging focus, with UAE identity woven into everyday nursery life.

Daily life is shaped by prepared environments that balance movement, order, sensory discovery, and language for each age group. The Nido environment serves 8 weeks to 18 months, with groups of 9 to 10 children, and is described as a warm, secure nest for movement, sensory discovery, and first language. The Toddlers Community supports walking children up to 2.5 years, with attention to coordination, vocabulary, confidence, and everyday independence. The Children’s House serves children from 2.5 years to 4 years 11 months, where the focus deepens on concentration, problem-solving, and respect for the community. The school also notes quality and occupational health and safety management systems, and says its care is supported by certified systems. Families are invited to enquire, visit the nursery, and then complete registration with guidance from the team.

What makes The Montessori Children’s Garden distinctive is the combination of licensed Montessori practice, small-group care, Emirati leadership, and a clear connection to Abu Dhabi identity. It has been supported by Khalifa Fund since 2016, and the school describes purposeful collaborations that connect early education with culture, community development, family wellbeing, and social responsibility. A featured collaboration with the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center also supports shared goals in education, culture, community development, and Montessori principles in the UAE. It may be a good fit for families seeking a Montessori nursery with Arabic and English, a carefully prepared environment, and close partnership with educators from the earliest months through to preschool age.
