- Learning area: Care of Self
- Level: Ages 3-5

Materials
- Wide-tooth comb
- Soft hairbrush
- Mirror
- Hair ties or clips
Instructions
1. Look in the mirror to assess hair. 2. Hold comb or brush in dominant hand. 3. Start at the ends of hair. 4. Work gently through tangles. 5. Gradually move higher. 6. Brush from roots to ends in smooth strokes. 7. Style as desired with clips or ties.
Educator tip
Always start from the ends to prevent pulling. Some children may need assistance—model gentleness on a doll first.
